Drummond 3; Fisher E; (RCAHMS EMCSP Balquhidder) no.3 slab here
Photogrammetry here
This near rectangular slab, with rounded corners, is 1.81 m long (W–E) and up to 0.61 m wide towards the W end.
It bears the carving in relief of a Roman cross 0.26 m from the W end of the slab, the stem of which connects to the bow spring of a pair of shears. The cross is 0.48 m long and 0.29 m wide, with head and arms 0.10–0.13 m long and 0.08 m wide. The shears are 0.41 m long and 0.13 m wide.
Below the arms of the cross, on either side of its stem is the inscription:
R MG
The ‘G’ was not recorded on the RCAHMS drawing. It may indicate a ‘MacGregor’.
There are a number of straight lines on the slab which are probably natural cracks.
